His most recent directing credits include two new musicals: "The Trouble with Doug," and "Pages," both with the CAP 21 Theatre company, as well as "A Different Moon" and "Yellowman" at Penguin Rep. He is currently the Chair of Acting at the CAP 21 conservatory; prior to that, he taught at HB Studio and Columbia College Chicago. As a writer, his short stories and poetry have appeared in The Iowa Review, Escape Into Life, Poetry East, Sycamore Review, Rosebud and other literary journals; his plays "Mystery in Space," "Alcimero" and "Sing for your Supper" have been produced in New York and Chicago. He is a 1982 MFA graduate of the Goodman School of Drama at DePaul. He has been married to the actress Ann Dowd for a long time, and they have three wonderful children.
