The famous comic strip detective Dick Tracy gets the cinematic treatment with this movie starring Warren Beatty as the celebrated sleuth. This action-heavy movie is rated PG and also stars Madonna and Al Pacino. Heavily stylized to reflect the tone of the comic strip, the movie features heavy concentrations of black, yellow and red. The storyline is focused on Dick Tracy's impending showdown with a gangster named Big Boy Caprice and his flunkies, as well as his seduction by the voluptuous Breathless Mahoney. In addition to being an action movie, the film pays tribute to the mobster movie genre. It is a fast-paced adventure that allows Dick Tracy to demonstrate the depth and breadth of his detective skills, with little references to the comic brought in for established fans to enjoy. In addition to starring, Warren Beatty directs this film that was written by Jim Cash and Jack Epps Jr.

Death of a Salesman is a 1985 film based on the 1949 play written by Arthur Miller. Willie Lomax (Dustin Hoffman) is a mentally unstable, unappreciated salesman, who is worried about his sons, Biff (John Malkovich) and Happy (Stephen Lang), who are still meandering through life as adults without having accomplished much. Biff is a high school football star that failed to go to college. He is happily content and has dreams of being a farmhand. Happy is a womanizer and has a dead end job as a store buyer. Willy is dumbfounded to as why neither of his sons want to follow in his footsteps. Willy's erratic behavior gets worse and his boss, Howard (Jon Polito) fires him from his job. Willy seeks advice from his neighbor, Charley (Charles Durning), but runs into Charley's son, Bernard (David S. Chandler) first. Bernard tells Willy about a trip Biff had taken to Boston to visit Willy and something transpired to change Biff's mind about many things. Willy reminisces about that day in Boston, and it is revealed that Biff found out about a young woman Willy had taken along with him on his business trip. That revelation changed Biff's opinion of his father forever. Biff is in a state of frustration after having met with Willy and Happy. He goes home and faces his angry mother, Linda (Kate Reid), who feels that Willy has been abandoned. Willy's mental state is worsening. Biff attempts to reconcile with his father, who cannot seem to let go of the dreams he has for his sons. Biff wants a normal lifestyle, doing what makes him happy. Willy misinterprets he and his son's reconciliation, and believes Biff wants to go into business. Willy purposefully crashes his car and kills himself so that his family can receive the insurance money. Biff still opts not to go into business, while Happy chooses to follow his father's career.

After she tucks the children snuggly into bed, upstairs, telephone calls from a stranger begin to disrupt what she had planned as a quiet evening of study. After several similar calls, she becomes unnerved and calls the police when the silent stranger still offers no clue to his identity. The phone calls continue... Finally, an eery voice on the other end of the line asks ominously "Have you checked the children, lately?" It appears that the stranger can see her and is aware of her movements. She closes all the curtains and turns out the lights believing that the darkness is her only hiding place. By this time, the police are tracing the origin of the calls. Jill is told she must stall for time, the next time he calls, so that the trace can be completed. More calls... "Why haven't you checked the children?" the caller asks. Jill, by now frightened nearly out of her wits, screams into the receiver "Leave me alone!" and slams the phone down onto it's cradle. Again, the phone rings, but this time it's the police who have successfully traced the call. "Jill," the detective says, "we've traced the calls... They're coming from inside the house!"

The 1975 production of 'The Hindenburg" recounts an awful disaster originally occurring in 1937 that involved the explosion of the German passenger airship, the Hindenburg. Starring George C. Scott, Anne Bancroft and William Atherton, the film gives a speculative theory of the events involved in this horrible tragedy. In the movie, the Hindenburg disaster is portrayed as one that was cleverly orchestrated by a conspiracy group known as the Zeppelins. While this perspective is certainly one of great interest and intrigue, no historical evidence has been produced that suggests the possibility of the work of these conspirators. The film centers around the possibility of the character Boerth's planned destruction of the airship. Though there is no way to prove or disprove the film's claim of sabotage, "The Hindenburg" remains a suspenseful thriller that leaves the audience wondering what the true cause of 1937 explosion was.

Johnny Hooker, a small time grifter, unknowingly steals from Doyle Lonnegan, a big time crime boss, when he pulls a standard street con. Lonnegan demands satisfaction for the insult. After his partner, Luther, is killed, Hooker flees, and seeks the help of Henry Gondorff, one of Luther's contacts, who is a master of the long con. Hooker wants to use Gondorff's expertise to take Lonnegan for an enormous sum of money to even the score, since he admits he "doesn't know enough about killing to kill him." They devise a complicated scheme and amass a talented group of other con artists who want their share of the reparations. The stakes are high in this game, and our heroes must not only deal with Lonnegan's murderous tendencies, but also other side players who want a piece of the action. To win, Hooker and Gondorff will need all their skills...and a fair amount of confidence.
