Tom Cochrane (Leo Penn'), full of dope (cocaine) and covered with blood, is picked up by the police and then questioned by detectives Shannon (Douglas Fowley) and Taylor (Harry Strang), but manages to escape. His girl friend Lois Walter (Teala Loring) , against the wishes of her guardian, Jim Grosset (Charles Arnt), assists Tom and his police-officer brother-in-law Mac McLane (Robert Armstrong) in trying to clear Tom of a possible murder charge. Tom only recalls meeting a man in a bar and going to a party. Tom and Mac find the man, Joe (Elisha Cook Jr.), who takes them to the party scene, the apartment of the Sindells, where they find the body of a murdered girl in the apartment above. The police pick up Mac, while Tom trails Marie (Virginia Dale and Mike (Jack Overman). Joe is murdered for leading Tom to the scene of the crime, and Marie, who had been hired by the killer to get Tom at the apartment when the crime was committed, is choked to death. Tom, following the killer of Marie, is almost trapped and killed himself, but is saved by Mike.

Danny Dakin, machine-gunned to death as he is drifting to earth. After being taken prisoner Jeff learns the name of the man who murdered his brother---Nazi ace Major Von Streicher. In the concentration camp he begins a plan of escape with two other prisoners; Czech prisoner Captain Paul Husnik and a young Russian doctor, Alexandra "Alec" Zoreisch. The three escape during an air raid. Jeff begins to take a dislike to Paul over several incidents that arouse his suspicions. Actually Paul is Gestapo officer Paul van Brock who has engineered the escape in the hope that the Alec will lead him to the leaders of the underground movement. They manage to reach the home of a friend of Alec's father, where Paul reveals his true colors by killing the underground leader and calling the Gestapo. Jeff overpowers Paul and he and Alec escape and elude the Nazi agents. Reaching Holland, where plans have been set for their escape, Jeff learns that the plane in which he was shot down has been re-built by the Nazis for a mysterious flight to England. He refuses to take the boat with Alec and, disguised as a German soldier, learns the details of the flight plan and that the man who murdered his brother, Von Streicher, is to pilot the plane. Jeff steals a Nazi plane and heads for the English Channel to intercept Von Streicher.

He also gives Mary a new office right next to his; while she ends up making a name for herself in the medical community, Don begins to pilfer funds from his practice. Jealousy and mistrust drive Mary and Don apart, seemingly for good. Two years go by and Mary, now a famous doctor, takes a much-needed vacation. While on vacation she runs into Don, who is now on the lam from the authorities. Mary and Don have an affair, and Don tries to get a divorce. Lois is willing but her father doesn't want the Cavanaugh name mixed up in any scandal. He clears Don's name and gets all charges against Don dropped, on the condition that Don will not divorce Lois for at least six months. When Mary finds herself pregnant with Don's child and Don unable to marry her, she must decide whether she should tell Don or raise the child on her own. Its a year that he can t divorce Lois and their baby dies while on the ship. Very harsh. Mary is caught in the act of suicide and saves a child in the final scene. Mary gains her confidence back and all is good.
