Joshua Losey has been an actor since 1988 when he got his Equity card through a variety act. Earlier he appeared in a couple of his father's films as supporting artist in Secret Ceremony (1968) and The Go-Between (1971). He provided commentary for the documentary film by Hideo Nakata Joseph Losey: The Man with Four Names (1998) and was interviewed about his memories of filming on "The Go-Between" Box set DVD. As well as his film and TV roles, he has worked on BBC Radio 4 speaking French verse and has appeared in the West End on a couple of occasions , notably the stage version of X11 Angry Men by Reginald Rose and directed by Harold Pinter . He has also appeared in " Cyderdelic " improvising a role as a workshop participator called Jan. He lives in Bristol with his wife and 2 daughters.

After studying in Germany with Bertolt Brecht, Losey returned to the United States, eventually making his way to Hollywood. In the 1950s Losey was blacklisted in the United States and moved to Europe where he made the remainder of his films, mostly in the United Kingdom.
