“Alpha and Omega” is an animated feature film released in …
“Alpha and Omega” is an animated feature film released in traditional 2D and 3D by Crest Animation Productions. The film follows the adventures of two wolves from the same pack but on opposite ends of the social ladder. The animals are separated from their pack by conservationists, and must work together to return to their home and the family they both love. Much like many love stories before it, the film opens by introducing the two leads. The female wolf, Kate, is an Alpha, and a member of the highest level of society within the wolf pack. The male wolf, Humphrey, is an Omega, a member of the bottom class. While Kate prepares to complete a deal sought out by her father to bring peace between two rival packs, Humphrey is content goofing around and having fun all day. Humphrey’s main job is to serve as a distraction to take the seriousness out of any situation, and Kate is supposed to be a leader in training. However, before Kate can complete her engagement, a group of conservationists tranquilize and relocate Kate and Humphrey to repopulate a wilderness. While Humphrey has feelings for Kate, she distrusts his motives at first, because she does not want to repopulate an area with him. The pair decide it would be best to find their way back to their pack. The two embark on an unlikely bonding exercise to traverse hundreds of miles before the two rival packs go to war. However, the situation is complicated when the wolf Kate was supposed to marry falls in love with another female wolf. So when Kate and Humphrey find their way back, the solution is not as easy as Kate marrying another wolf. In the end, Humphrey can not take the disappointment of losing his chance with Kate and decides to leave the pack. When Kate realizes her mistake, she calls off the wedding and declares her love for Humphrey, only to have the other wolf declare his love for the other female. Kate runs after Humphrey to change his mind about leaving and tell her how he really feels. “Alpha and Omega” touches on several themes such as teamwork, believing in yourself, and trusting others, but puts a fair amount of emphasis on being who you are and having self respect. The two main characters are forced to work together at their objections, but end up having a blossoming relationship because their personalities compliment each other so well.

Before that union can occur, Kate and Humphrey are captured by the park's rangers and sent to an Idaho park as part of a wolf repopulation project. Mindful of her duties, Kate is determined to return to Jasper and Humphrey offers to help with the assistance of two odd geese. However, as this disparate pair struggle through the dangers to get home, a growing mutual appreciation of their talents and then a deeper love threatens to disastrously complicate everything if they make it back.

Richard O'Barry was the man who captured and trained the dolphins for the television show Flipper (1964). O'Barry's view of cetaceans in captivity changed from that experience when as the last straw he saw that one of the dolphins playing Flipper - her name being Kathy - basically committed suicide in his arms because of the stress of being in captivity. Since that time, he has become one of the leading advocates against cetaceans in captivity and for the preservation of cetaceans in the wild. O'Barry and filmmaker 'Louie Psihoyos (I)' go about trying to expose one of what they see as the most cruel acts against wild dolphins in the world in Taiji, Japan, where dolphins are routinely corralled, either to be sold alive to aquariums and marine parks, or slaughtered for meat. The primary secluded cove where this activity is taking place is heavily guarded. O'Barry and Psihoyos are well known as enemies by the authorities in Taiji, the authorities who will use whatever tactic to expel the two from Japan forever. O'Barry, Psihoyos and their team covertly try to film as a document of conclusive evidence this cruel behavior. They employ among others Hollywood cameramen and deep sea free divers. They also highlight what is considered the dangerous consumption of dolphin meat (due to its high concentration of mercury) which is often sold not as dolphin meat, and the Japanese government's methodical buying off of poorer third world nations for their support of Japan's whaling industry, that support most specifically at the International Whaling Commission.

In the middle of a raging thunderstorm, a traveling circus accidentally leaves behind some very precious cargo--a baby zebra. The gangly little foal is rescued by horse farmer Nolan Walsh, who takes him home to his young daughter Channing. Once a champion thoroughbred trainer, Walsh has given up horse training for a quiet life with Channing on their modest Kentucky farm. The little zebra, or "Stripes," as Channing calls him, is soon introduced to the farm's misfit troupe of barnyard residents, led by a cranky Shetland Pony named Tucker and Franny, a wise old goat who keeps the family in line. The group is joined by Goose, a deranged big-city pelican who's hiding out in the sticks until the heat dies down in Jersey. The un-aptly named bloodhound Lightening keeps a lazy eye on goings-on at the farm - in between naps. The Walsh farm borders the Turfway Racetrack, where highly skilled thoroughbreds compete for horse racing's top honor, the ultra-prestigious Kentucky Crown. From the first moment Stripes lays eyes on the track, he's hooked--he knows that if he could just get the chance, he could leave all those other horses in the dust. What he doesn't know is--he's not exactly a horse. But with characteristic zeal, he devotes himself to training for the big time, with a little help from Tucker, who has coached a host of champion racehorses in the past.
