It was intended as a companion to fellow ITV soap Coronation Street, starting at 7:00 pm on Fridays and Sundays. Everyman is a British television documentary series that aired on BBC One in a late-night slot on Sunday evenings between 1977 and 2000. Its subject matter tended to be focused on moral and religious issues, often in the form of a film in which individuals would discuss their thoughts. One edition from 1990, A Game of Soldiers concerned a group of soldiers exploring their feelings about being trained to kill. Throughout much of its time on air, series of Everyman aired alternately with Heart of the Matter, a debate series which featured somewhat similar topics. Both series were cancelled in the 2000s after the BBC revamped the output of its religious programming.

The Golden Shot

The Golden Shot was a British television game show …
The Golden Shot was a British television game show produced by ATV for ITV between 1 July 1967 and 13 April 1975, based on the German TV show Der goldene Schuß. It is most commonly associated with host Bob Monkhouse, although three other presenters also hosted the show during its lifetime. Hostess Anne Aston was on hand to read out the scores achieved by the contestants, and each month a "Maid of the Month", usually a glamour model of the era, would demonstrate the prizes and announce the contestants. When Bob Monkhouse returned to present the show in 1974, he was joined by co-hostess (to Anne Aston) Wei Wei Wong, recently seen in The Man with the Golden Gun and an ex-member of the Young Generation and Second Generation dance troupes. This was one of the earliest regular appearances by an East Asian woman on British TV.

Ready Steady Go! (or RSG!) was a British rock/pop music television programme broadcast every Friday evening from 9 August 1963 until 23 December 1966. It was conceived by Elkan Allan, head of Rediffusion TV. Allan wanted a light entertainment programme different from the low-brow style of light entertainment transmitted by ATV. The programme was produced without scenery or costumes and with a minimum of choreography and make-up. Allan recruited a fellow journalist, Francis Hitching, as producer. Hitching became a major figure in light entertainment in the 1960s. Robert Fleming was the first director, followed by the documentary director Rollo Gamble, then Michael Lindsay-Hogg, Daphne Shadwell and Peter Croft.

In the new town of Bad Trad, England, a battle is ensuing …
In the new town of Bad Trad, England, a battle is ensuing between the generations regarding the older generation's view of the disruptive nature of what teenagers are listening to, what is considered popular music of the day, namely jazz. The fight for the older generation is led by the mayor of the town, who ultimately passes an ordinance requiring a license to broadcast such entertainment. The fight for the teenagers is led by Helen and Craig, who decide the best way to show that jazz is not disruptive is to hold a jazz music festival. With a little help by the off screen narrator, Helen and Craig travel to the big city and hit the music studios and live music venues in search of a disc jockey who will help arrange for the acts to appear at the festival. This task is not as easy as they initially believe it will be. When the mayor finds out what the teenagers are up to, he does whatever he can to stop them. Helen and Craig may find that political expediency may be their best weapon.
