World in Action was a British investigative current affairs programme made by Granada Television for ITV from 7 January 1963 until 7 December 1998. Its campaigning journalism frequently had a major impact on events of the day. Its production teams often took audacious risks, and the programme gained a solid reputation for its often unorthodox approach. The series was sold around the world and won numerous awards. In its heyday World in Action drew audiences of up to 23 million in Britain alone, equivalent to almost half the population.

What's My Line? is a panel game show that originally ran in the United States on the CBS Television Network from 1950 to 1967, with a dozen international versions and subsequent U.S. revivals. The game uses celebrity panelists to question contestants in order to determine their occupation, i.e., "line [of work]," with panelists being called on to identify a weekly celebrity "mystery guest" while blindfolded. It is the longest-running U.S. primetime network television game-show. Moderated by John Charles Daly and with regular panelists Dorothy Kilgallen, Arlene Francis, and Bennett Cerf, What's My Line? won three Emmy Awards for "Best Quiz or Audience Participation Show" in 1952, 1953, and 1958 and the Golden Globe for Best TV Show in 1962.
