They pursue their affair with obsessive abandon despite the dangers of discovery and what it would do to his complacent life and his son. Australia is about Edouard Pierson, a Belgian-born wool dealer who emigrated to Australia after World War Two. The movie actual takes place in Belgium as he returns to his homeland to assist his family with their wool business. He meets a beautiful woman, Jeanne, another single parent, and an intense relationship develops. Dead Ringers is a 1988 psychological thriller starring Jeremy Irons. The film was adapted from the novel Twins. Irons plays a dual role. He portrays Eliot and Beverly Mantle. The Mantles are successful gynecologists in Canada. Eliot is a womanizer who seduces his female patients and then passes them along to Beverly when he tires of them. The situation between the two brothers becomes complicated when a female patient named Claire Niveau enters the picture. Beverly becomes emotionally involved with Claire. Eliot takes sexual advantage of her because she thinks that he is Beverly. She leaves town and Beverly becomes psychotic because of his prescription drug abuse.
