Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway

Ant & Dec's Saturday Night …
Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway (referred to simply as Saturday Night Takeaway or SNT) is a British television variety show, created and presented by Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly (colloquially known as Ant & Dec), and broadcast on ITV since its premiere on 8 June 2002, enduring a three-year hiatus between 2010–2012, while its presenters worked on other projects. The show's format, heavily influenced by previous Saturday night light entertainment shows such as Noel's House Party, Opportunity Knocks and Don't Forget Your Toothbrush, focuses on a mixture of live and pre-recorded entertainment and quiz segments, including an audience-based quiz involving the television adverts during a week's episode of one of ITV's programmes, and a competition in each series between the two series.

The year is 2000 and the new Millennium brings a flurry of nostalgia shows looking back at the past century. BBC2 gave us I Love 1970s (also known as I Love The Seventies), a ten part hour long series with each episode focusing on a particular year. Celebrities, fans and those being featured were interviewed among a collection of vintage clips and newly recorded 'retro' style clips recreating the era. Each episode was presented by someone connected to the particular year and that star also recorded an intro for a film that was broadcast afterward. BBC2 also used a new special ident for the initial broadcast - a seventies style lava lamp that created the '2' logo. The series was a success and spawned two sequel series, I Love 1980s and I Love 1990s, specials and a US series with the same name.
