Paul Merton's Palladium Story is a two-part British television series first broadcast on BBC1 on 18 and 25 September 1994. It is presented by Paul Merton who celebrates the history of the London Palladium, in each episode celebrity guests contribute to talking about the history of the venue. On 10 March 2011, just under 17 years after their original broadcast, both episodes were repeated on BBC Four back-to-back.

The Golden Shot was a British television game show produced by ATV for ITV between 1 July 1967 and 13 April 1975, based on the German TV show Der goldene Schuß. It is most commonly associated with host Bob Monkhouse, although three other presenters also hosted the show during its lifetime. Hostess Anne Aston was on hand to read out the scores achieved by the contestants, and each month a "Maid of the Month", usually a glamour model of the era, would demonstrate the prizes and announce the contestants. When Bob Monkhouse returned to present the show in 1974, he was joined by co-hostess (to Anne Aston) Wei Wei Wong, recently seen in The Man with the Golden Gun and an ex-member of the Young Generation and Second Generation dance troupes. This was one of the earliest regular appearances by an East Asian woman on British TV.

At the suggestion of her girlfriend, a young singer decides to try and make her name in London. Catching the overnight '6.5 Special' bound for the BBC television show, the two find the train full of 1950's British pop stars only too ready to burst into song. As the presenters of the show are also on board, our heroine is assured of a spot on the following Saturday's 'Six Five Special'.
