She-Ra: Princess of Power is an American animated series produced in 1985 by Filmation. A spin-off of Filmation's He-Man and the Masters of the Universe series, She-Ra was aimed primarily at a young female audience to complement He-Man's popularity with young males. Unlike the He-Man cartoon, which was based on the Masters of the Universe toy line by Mattel, the creation of She-Ra was a collaboration between Filmation and Mattel. The initial group of characters and premise were created by uncredited writers Larry DiTillio and J. Michael Straczynski for Filmation, while the characters introduced later were designed by Mattel. Mattel provided financial backing for the series, as well as an accompanying toy line. The series premiered in 1985 and was cancelled in 1986, after 2 seasons and 93 episodes.

The U.S. of Archie is a Saturday morning cartoon show on CBS from September 7, 1974 to September 1976. A spin-off of the popular Archie comic books and television show, it featured Archie, Jughead, and the other Riverdale High student regulars re-enacting famous scenes throughout American history, taking full advantage of the Bicentennial in the months leading up to it. These re-enactments were termed by Archie during the show to be historical accounts featuring the "ancestors" of the current Archie gang; surprisingly, these ancestors were nearly identical to Archie et. al. and were seemingly close friends of famous people in several eras of American history. It was produced by Filmation founders and producers Lou Scheimer and Norm Prescott.

A one hour Saturday morning cartoon show which ran on CBS from 1969 to 1970. The show was a follow-up to the previous season's top-rated half-hour show "The Archie Show" (which had a 55 percent audience share and was the top-rated show for the 1968-1969 Saturday morning season). The show introduced a new Archie character to Saturday mornings: Sabrina, The Teenage Witch. The Sabrina character was inspired by the live-action character Samantha, the witch from the ABC live action primetime hit show, "Bewitched". Sabrina and her cast were featured in two segments on each show. Her shorts revolved around a family of witches who moved to Riverdale. Her cast included her stern Aunt Hilda, her bubbly Aunt Zelda, her magical pet cat Salem, her Cousin Ambrose (whose voice and mannerisms were inspired by comic actor Louis Nye), Miss Della, the powerful and the head witch, Sabrina's mortal boyfriend Harvey, her friends Ophelia and Spencer, and Spencer's two dogs, Hot Dog Jr. and Chilli Dog. "The Archie Comedy Hour" also included the "Dance Of The Week" and song segments that were first introduced on "The Archie Show". Also included were two fast-paced segments called the "Funhouse" and "Side Show". These featured the Archie gang (and also Sabrina and her cast) in a mixture of sight-gags and comic skits. Filmation Studios hired two writers from the primetime hit show "Laugh-In" (the show in which these segments were inspired by) to write for these segments. On some shows, Sabrina was featured in a segment teaching different magic tricks with the assistance of one of her cast members. "The Archie Comedy Hour" garnered such high ratings for the season that Sabrina was given her own one hour show, and the "Funhouse" and "Side Show" segments were also made into a one hour show the next season titled "Archie's Funhouse".
