John Carver looked through the window of a little church in the North woods and saw the woman who had once been his own being made the wife of Julio Cumberland, the most prosperous citizen in the village. He is pursued by Private Dick Osborne, of the Royal Northwest Mounted Police, the lover of Nan's new stepdaughter, who recognizes the uninvited guest and knows Nan's story. Julio regards the conferences of his bride and Dick with jealous suspicion, and while spied upon by the criminal, attacks the officer, leaving him unconscious. Later the bride is found dead, and suspicion points to the officer as her murderer. John is captured and admits his guilt only when Dorothy prevails upon him to save the happiness of herself and the officer by confessing the crime. - Moving Picture World, 19 August 1922.

In Singapore, Captain Robert Anstruthers attempts to protect his friend, Colonel Costabel, from scandal since the colonel's wife is having an affair with Lord Ventnor. When Costabel travels to the interior, his wife and Ventnor have a rendezvous. Upon his return, Costabel discovers Ventnor's hat in his wife's boudoir. His wife tells him that Anstruthers has been annoying her and that Ventnor was trying to protect her from him. Anstruthers is court-martialed and sent away in disgrace. He enlists in the navy under the name of Robert Jenks and becomes a sailor aboard ship owned by Sir Arthur Deane. During a typhoon which wrecks the ship, Anstruthers saves the live of Deane's daughter, Iris. For several weeks, the two live alone on an island. They discover a gold mine, but are set upon by a band of pirates. Deane and Ventnor arrive on a gun boat and defeat the pirates. When Iris announces her engagement to Anstruthers, Ventnor tells Deane that if he does not break his daughter's engagement, he will withdraw his financial support. Deane refuses to interfere, and Anstruthers and Iris get married. Costabel's wife, who is enraged that Ventnor went in search of Iris, confesses everything to her husband, and Anstruthers' commission is restored.

After Mortimer and Rawn surreptitiously ruin Isabel financially, she marries Mortimer to provide for her young son, and sells the ranch to Rawn. When Bruce recovers his senses and returns, Mortimer tells him about the marriage and claims that the child is his. Bruce leaves, but after learning the truth, he ruins Mortimer and Rawn on the stock market. After Mortimer kills himself, Bruce and Isabel are reunited.

Major Carter, owner of the Sunset mines, reads of a reward offered for Cheyenne Harry if captured. The butler gives him a telegram telling of the flooding of several shafts in his mine. He is soon on the way to the mine in his car. Ruth, his daughter, follows in her roadster. In the hills, Cheyenne Harry reads the newspaper account of himself. As he looks at the road below he sees the sheriff and several of his men riding. Harry picks up a stone and succeeds in hitting the sheriff. The sheriff and his men dismount, but they can find no one. Harry has disappeared. Ruth's car sticks fast in crossing a stream, and when she sees Harry riding toward her, she calls to him to help her. At first he refuses, but he finally agrees to let her ride his horse while he leads it. He tells her that he is going to get even with her father by taking her to his hang-out. On the sly, she succeeds in tearing up some of her cards and scattering them along the way. Down by the stream her father and the sheriff meet, and all start to trail the horse, after finding her car. Later they came across the torn cards, and it is an easy matter to find the cave. The sheriff calls to Harry to surrender and he answers with a shot. They exchange many shots and finally Ruth begs him to surrender and trust her. Harry consents and waves a flag of truce, but the sheriff shoots him through the shoulder. Ruth starts to bind Harry's wound and the men come up. She tells them that he is her prisoner, and that she will drive him back to town. The sheriff says a deputy must go along. Ruth agrees, and they start. She drives fast and is soon ahead of the other machine. She has engine trouble and the deputy gets out to see what is the matter. Quickly she starts the car and he is left behind. She drives to the river and points to Harry that his road lies ahead. At dinner that night Ruth has a vision of Harry sitting at the table with her.

A fight in a saloon has resulted in an innocent man being accused of murder of a "squealer." Drunk, he sprawls over a table while the real murderer places a revolver in his hand. Peggy tries to arouse him to make his escape, but they are discovered and taken into custody. Jane Lowe, a crook through circumstances, learns of her brother's arrest on a murder charge, just as she determines to "go straight." Willis pushes his advantage and she says she will steal the diamonds from Houston on condition that Paul is freed. For the purpose, Jane takes a suite in Houston's apartment. He is attacked in the park and Jane, arriving at the right moment, takes him home. A friendship ensues and Jane asks if she may bring her uncle to see the gems. As Houston is called from the room, Willis orders her to put the gems in a wine glass. Recalling her brother's plight, she obeys. Houston returns to the room and begins the search just as officers surround the house, and Jane turns over her wine glass, depositing the gems on the table cover. The fact that Willis is the murderer is discovered, and Houston, Paul and Jane find happiness together.

Shortly after they have tacked the sign to a tree Cheyenne Harry removes it. He then goes to the camp, enters the saloon, seats himself in the corner and leaves after listening to the sheriff boast of what he will do when he captures Cheyenne Harry. He then mounts his horse, rides into the saloon and compels the men to stack their guns and give up their money. Encamped near a stream are Belle Blaire and her husband, Sam, who is lazy, forces her to do the work. Pursued by the sheriff, Cheyenne's horse stumbles, and he falls into the stream, while the animal goes on to the Blaire camp, and is found by the sheriff. Some time later Cheyenne, wounded, comes to the Blaire camp. Sam takes him prisoner and sends Belle to the sheriff, so that they will get the reward. Belle does not wish to do this, but her husband compels her to go. Belle returns with the sheriff and Harry is taken to jail. Sam gets the reward, goes to the saloon and proceeds to gamble and treat everyone. A fight ensues and he is killed. In the meantime. Belle unlocks the jail, allowing Harry to escape. Returning, she discovers her dead husband, and kneeling beside his dead body, finds the money soaked with his blood.
