The Lawrence Welk Show

The Lawrence Welk Show …
The Lawrence Welk Show was an American televised musical variety show hosted by big band leader Lawrence Welk. The series aired locally in Los Angeles for four years, from 1951 to 1955, then nationally for another 16 years on ABC from 1955 to 1971, followed by 11 years in first-run syndication from 1971 to 1982. Repeat episodes are broadcast in the United States by Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) stations. These airings incorporate an original program—usually, a color broadcast from 1965 to 1982—in its entirety. In place of the commercials, newer performance and interview clips from the original stars and/or a family member of the performers are included; these clips are occasionally updated.

The Ken Murray Show

Former child vaudevillian, producer and entertainer Ken Murray …
Former child vaudevillian, producer and entertainer Ken Murray hosted this comedy/variety show for three seasons. Featuring a large cast, impresive sets and lots of beautiful "Glamourlovelies", Murray was very much an old time stage performer, sporting a fedora, cigar and cane. His trademark set was the corner of Hollywood and Vine. In an unusual twist for a mostly comedy show, he regularly featured a live performance of a dramatic scene from a play or movie. He had a soft spot for older vaudeville performers and had them on often and because he was much-loved Hollywood figure, he was able to get major stars to appear, sometimes simply in quick cameos.

It's 1929. The studio gave the cinema its voice gave offered the audiences a chance to see their favorite actors and actresses from the silent screen era to see and for the first time can be heard in a gaudy, grandiose music comedy revue. But also appear actors and actresses from the first 'talkies', stars from Broadway and of course the German shepherd Rin-Tin-Tin. Frank Fay is the host of the more than 70 well-known stars who show various acts.
