Following the success of I Love the 70s (aka I Love 1970s), the BBC commissioned this second series looking at Eighties. Each edition would feature aspects of a particular year of the decade with classic clips and celebrities such as Peter Kay and Johnny Vegas returning to give us their memories of the time. This series' episodes were increased in length to 90 minutes and as per the previous series the episodes were accompanied by a film from the year on initial broadcast. The popularity of the brand would lead to a further series on the Nineties and special one off editions focusing on Christmas, Toys, Jamaica, The Muppets and Kung Fu.
