Three Girls is a three-part British television drama series, written by screenwriter Nicole Taylor, and directed by Philippa Lowthorpe, that broadcast on three consecutive nights between 16 and 18 May 2017 on BBC One. A co-production between BBC Studios and Studio Lambert, the series is a dramatised version of the events surrounding the Rochdale child sex abuse ring, and describes how the authorities failed to investigate allegations of rape because the victims were perceived as unreliable witnesses. The story is told from the viewpoint of three of the victims: fourteen-year-old Holly Winshaw (Molly Windsor), sixteen-year-old Amber Bowen (Ria Zmitrowicz) and her younger sister Ruby (Liv Hill); although the focus later shifts to sexual health worker Sara Rowbotham (Maxine Peake), who became the main whistleblower who drew attention to the case after repeated pleas for help from social services and the police fell on deaf ears.

Escape from Sobibor is a made for television movie based on an amazing real-life story about the most successful uprising of Jewish death camp prisoners in World War II. The inspiring revolt and escape, which took place on October 13, 1943, eventually caused the Nazis to close the death camp. Of the 600 prisoners held at the camp, half of them escaped. Most of them perished in the weeks afterwards, but the camp was such a sore spot for the Nazis that they demolished the prison and placed a forest over it. The film version was produced in 1987, during the golden era of action and war movies. The movie stands as a tribute to the bravery of the prisoners, highlighting that even in the most oppressive and ugly of times, the human spirit prevails. Directed by Jack Gold, a member of the British Realist movement, CBS showed its full confidence in the screen play by airing the special on its network.
