Bombolini is a fairly …
Bombolini is a fairly worthless drunk in the small Italian town of Santa Vittoria in the closing days of World War II. When word comes that the Fascist government has surrendered, he climbs a water tower to tear down the flag. He can't get down and someone gets the crowd to chant his name to give him confidence. The Fascist town council hears this and believes that he is the town's new leader. They surrender to him and make him the new mayor. He rises to the occasion and when he finds that the Germans plan to occupy his town and take their wine (over a million bottles) he works out a plan to hide it.

Welcome to the Della! program guide. Hosted by the multi-talented Della Reese, this was the first talk show hosted by an African-American woman. Divinely delightful, Della along with her sidekick comic Sandy Baron welcomed a wide array of guests to her hour long program with Peter Myers conducting the Orchestra. Lasting only one season the series is a landmark in history.

The Sammy Davis Jr. Show

The Sammy Davis Jr. Show …
The Sammy Davis Jr. Show was hosted by song-and-dance man Sammy Davis Jr. showcased his talents in this Musical Variety series. At the series start however Sammy was under contract for a "Special" with ABC and the stipulation was that he not appear on television until three weeks preceding the airing of that special. So after the premiere episode Sammy had three guest hosts fill in for him, they were Johnny Carson, Sean Connery and Jerry Lewis. Produced by Joe Hamilton with Associate Producer Carol Kritz. Sammy enlisted marvelous George Rhodes to head the orchestra and the Lester Wilson Dancers. His autobiographical book which had just been published in 1965 called Yes, I Can! told exactly all the odds this multi-talented performer had to overcome. He was only the second Black to host his own show. Nat King Cole was the first in the late 50's. However, the world of music was changing and with the Beatles invasion and more modern shows cropping up his show lasted a scant 15 episodes.

The Danny Kaye Show is an American variety show hosted by Danny Kaye that aired on CBS from 1963 to 1967 on Wednesday nights. Directed by Robert Scheerer, the show premiered in black-and-white, but later switched to color broadcasts. At the time, Kaye was at the height of his popularity, having starred in a string of successful films in the 1940s and '50's, made successful personal appearances at such venues as the London Palladium, and appeared many times on television. His most recent films had been considered disappointing, but the television specials he starred in were triumphant, leading to this series. Prior to his television and film career, Kaye had made a name for himself with his own radio show, and numerous other guest appearances on other shows.
