Inside No. 9 is a British black comedy anthology television programme that first aired in 2014. It is written by Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton and produced by the BBC. Each 30-minute episode is a self-contained story with new characters and a new setting, and all star at least one (usually both) of Pemberton and Shearsmith. Aside from the writers, each episode has a new cast, allowing Inside No. 9 to attract a number of well-known actors. The stories are linked only by the number 9 in some way and a brass hare statue that is in the background of all episodes. Settings include a suburban house, a gothic mansion and a barn. Pemberton and Shearsmith took inspiration for Inside No. 9 from an episode of Psychoville, a previous project, which was filmed in a single room. This episode was, in turn, inspired by Alfred Hitchcock's Rope. Inside No. 9 was also a reaction to Psychoville, which featured a long overarching story realised over multiple series.

Persuasion BBC TV-film opened in April 1995 it is the adaptation of a Jane Austen's novel. Directed by Roger Michell, starring Amanda Root and Ciarán Hinds this film depicts a young woman whose love for a man cannot be dissuaded no matter the obstacles. So many Jane Austen novels were put into film, because she had a way of spinning a story propelling a person into the plot line. Persuasion is not different; a young lady falls in love with a man who is not in the same social standing. During a time when social class was the most important thing, and defined who you were as a person. Persuasion was Jane Austen's last novel completed in August 1816. Ann Elliot becomes an unmarried spinster during a time when that carried a negative connotation, placing her in a position as an unattached woman. She had to live with her sister and brother-in-law. When her true love returns from war, he is now in a position of wealth and prestige. Rejecting Ann because she turned him down when he had nothing the plot centers around; both Ann Elliot and Frederick Wentworth rediscovering love and healing from old wounds. The film Persuasion does not disappoint those who are true Jane Austen fans.
