Had several nice displays The nicest room was a nice display by a local artist of a variety of Indian costumes. No admission fee, but donations accepted. Worth visiting. Full review by billk103

Tucked away on the campus of Amarillo College, this cozy three-floor museum has a generous range of art in its permanent collection, which has evolved only over the past four decades. You'll see 17th- to 19th-century European paintings, as well as works from 20th-century modernists. Designed by the architect for the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., this museum comprises galleries for photography and a substantial collection of Asian art and Middle Eastern textiles, made possible in part by donations from a local physician. Highlights include four Georgia O'Keeffe paintings.

Early American Modernist Paintings
The Amarillo Museum of Art has one of the largest collections of early American Modernist paintings, photography by Russell Lee, and textiles from the Middle East. Six galleries go along with 16 exhibitions per year in the intricate building designed by hailed architect Edward Durell Stone. For visitors looking for an educational experience, the museum offers tours, gallery lectures, films and publications. The museum has started a summer school for kids focused on developing creative abilities through painting, drawing, sculpting, mixed media and other mediums.
