This gorgeous 1800s Greek Revival mansion housed the Bellamy family, from the mid-19th century until the mid-20th century. The property contains 22 rooms, gorgeous gardens and restored slave quarters – and today, knowledgeable tour guides give guests both a history of the family and of the architecture. A rainy day at the beach drove one visitor to the Bellamy Mansion Museum, but she raved about her experience, saying that the tour guide offered a wealth of information. Other travelers note that although history buffs will adore this house and tour, those who are even slightly interested in history will enjoy it as well. The Bellamy Mansion Museum is located inside the bounds of Wilmington's Historic District, and it's open for tours Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. On Sundays, it's open from 1 to 5 p.m. Visitors can choose from either a self-guided audio tour of the mansion or a guided tour of the mansion, which occur on the hour every hour. Guided tours are not available on Mondays. The last tour begins at 4 p.m. The tours are included in the price of admission, which is $12 for adults; $10 for seniors and military; and $6 for students. Children ages 5 and younger get in for free. For more information, visit the Bellamy Mansion Museum's website.
