The Berkshire Botanical Gardens is one of the oldest gardens in the US; they are open to the public from May to mid-October. Structurally, the 15 acre garden is laid out with different collections allowing for leisurely strolling along the paths. Selection of over 3000 species emphasizes plants and flowers that are native to the Berkshires. A diverse exhibit of outdoor sculptures and art installations are spread throughout the grounds and strategically placed benches provide a spot of contemplative thought. Gorgeous ruffled poppies and fragrant roses are a highlight of the summer season.It is the perfect place to stretch your legs after a drive out to the west of Massachusetts. The mountain air is clear and refreshing. Classes and workshops are offered year round and educational programs are available to schools in the surrounding area. Handmade wreaths and decorations are on display and for sale at the Berkshire Botanical Garden. There are also many seasonal events where plants, herbs, crafts and other gifts are available. There is no cost to attend the events; however, there is an admission fee to see the garden. Berkshire Botanical Garden features a gift shop and numerous educational activities throughout the year.

Berkshire Botanical Garden is of the nation's oldest botanic gardens. It is a not-for-profit, membership-supported educational organization encompassing 15 acres of cultivated land at the intersection of Routes 102 and 183 in Stockbridge, Massachusetts. Its public display gardens are open May through mid-October. Both functional and ornamental, they are among the oldest in the US and have been expanded over the years in breadth and variety through a series of bequests and major gifts. Our collections emphasize plants that are indigenous to or thrive in the Berkshires; more than 3,000 species and varieties are represented.
