Had a great, last minute hike at this park. Went the long way to the grist mill. Bit of a rainy day but the canopy helped a great deal. Definite recommendation. Full review by LRD

This is very close to Calistoga (10-15 minute drive). Small charge to drive into the park. We went for a daytime hike when it was very hot (low-mid 90's), but the Redwood trail is very well shaded … Full review by LikeItActive

It gets really hot inside the yurt and late afternoon it cools down a bit. there are windows on the yurt you can roll up and let the cool air in the afternoon come in, but wouldn't leave the door open too long. You don't want mosquitos getting in. It gets really cool around 3-5 am, so make sure you have a good blanket.

I live in the park as a volunteer. I just asked an entry kiosk employee. Tents are not allowed next to the small yurts, which is what #3 is. However, you can rent a larger yurt up in the campground and pitch a tent there. My personal thing about the large yurts is they are in the full sun. When it gets hot here, its pretty warm in the yurts.
