A zoo with a wide variety of animals and exhibits, the Buffalo zoo is quite a hit amongst kids and adults alike. There are a number of animals here like polar bears, tigers, Asian elephants and zebus. They have a good variety of reptiles like spiny tailed lizards, pancake tortoises and alligators too. Besides this, visitors can get to see tomato frogs, crested toads and other such interesting and rare amphibians. There is a playground where kids can unwind and many interactive shows that make the animal kingdom come alive for you.

The Buffalo Zoo's starring attractions are two polar bear cubs called Luna and Kali. In addition to these cute little fur balls, the zoo houses a variety of mammals, reptiles, amphibians and birds. The eco-rainforest exhibit is a hit with visitors; many people say that the rope bridge across the exhibit offers a great view of the turtles and alligators below. Opening its gates back in 1875, the Buffalo Zoo is the third-oldest zoo in the country. As such, there are continuing renovations to the zoo that some visitors have found disappointing. Another TripAdvisor user praised its improvements: "It is amazing how far along the zoo has come over the years. There had been so many new attractions and exhibits and it looks like a world class zoo." Others were even more complimentary of the venue, citing its great staff and happy-looking animals. A general admission ticket costs $10.50; children between the ages of 2 and 14 years are charged $7.50, and children younger than 2 are free. Seniors and full-time students are charged $8.50. The zoo is open every day except for Christmas Day and Thanksgiving. Situated on the northern end of Delaware Park, the Buffalo Zoo offers family-friendly fun for warm summer days. The underground sea lion exhibit and Rainforest Falls are favorites, as they allow visitors to get close—but not too close—to the animals.
