Refund our reservation money due to storm. We live 1-2 hours away and the very cold, snowed, windy storm was to arrive when we were scheduled to be at the Botanic Gardens. Full review by kenjan7976

Denver Botanic Gardens on York Street is a 24-acre oasis just a few minutes from downtown. Any part of the gardens would be a fine destination for a romantic stroll, but Denver Botanic Gardens has three gardens that together are called the Romantic Gardens, making them especially appealing to couples. The Fragrance Garden, El Pomar Waterway and Schlessman Plaza, all within the Ornamental Gardens, provide idyllic settings for a wedding or vow renewal as well as pretty paths for sauntering hand-in-hand and benches where couples can sit, lost in each other and the profusion of color and fragrances around them. Lavender, lilies, narcissus, oregano, roses and clematis are among the plants and blooms that make these gardens so special.

There’s more to the Botanical Gardens in Denver than just the pretty face of its landscaped grounds and beautiful flowers. It’s also a world-class research center with a mission to connect people with plants and to encourage understanding of the ecosystems in which they thrive. The 23-acre location on York Street has a variety of gardens, popular exhibits, and a shop; it additionally hosts a summer concert series and nighttime events. The institution’s second main location, at Chatfield Farms on the southwest edge of greater Denver, focuses on native flora and agriculture; there's a working farm on its 700 acres. Beautiful and Captivating
Spread over 23 acres, this garden is home to a greenhouse, themed gardens and an amphitheatre that plays host to various events throughout the year. Of the many beautiful and captivating exhibits at the Gardens, infamous Chihuly exhibit should be on every tourist’s list visiting the gardens. Held last year between June and November. There are three different gardens that make up what we know as Denver Botanical gardens – York Street, which also has Mordecai Children’s garden; Carrying binoculars while heading to Botanical garden at Chatfield is given as not only it is a nature preserve but is also a great spot for bird watching! Mount Goliath, a part of Arapaho National Forest, is home to wildflower garden along the hiking trails.

Varied Ecosystems of Colorado
Denver Botanic Gardens strives to entertain and delight while spreading the collective wisdom of the Gardens through outreach, collaboration and education. Our conservation programs play a major role in saving species and protecting natural habitats for future generations. It became a reality in 1951 when members of the Colorado Forestry and Horticulture Association incorporated as the non-profit Botanical Gardens Foundation of Denver and hired legendary landscape architect Saco R. DeBoer to create a 15-year master plan. It was one of the first gardens in the country to emphasize native plants and to champion environmentally responsible practices, such as water conservation and biological control of pests. Today, Denver Botanic Gardens continues this tradition at three unique sites: Denver Botanic Gardens, Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield and Mount Goliath. Each of these demonstrates the varied ecosystems of Colorado.
