This Spanish colonial fort dates back to 1569 and is owned by the National Park Service. There is no entrance fee. A free short boat ride (less than 10 minutes) takes you to the island with the fort.… Full review by Chekist

Since Fort Mazantas is a small National Monument and has a small main office/store, I would recommend you get the NP passport online before you go

Not allowed on the boat. Can go on the walking trail and elsewhere in the area on leash.
