Elrod Ferry is a summer day-use area located at Hartwell Lake, one of the southeast's largest and most popular public recreation areas. The facility is positioned on a narrow peninsula which extends onto Hartwell Lake, providing sweeping views of the 56,000-acre lake and offering an ideal setting for a party, barbecue or simply a day of water activities with the family.
Policy: Day-use only Overnight camping is available at nine nearby campgrounds There is a $5 user fee per vehicle Don't Move Firewood: Protect your forests from tree-killing pests by buying your firewood locally and burning it on-site. Visit Dontmovefirewood.org for further information.
Directions: From Hartwell, GA, travel approximately 2.5 miles on Highway 29. Turn left onto Elrod Ferry Road, and after a mile follow the brown directional signs to the facility.
