This is a well preserved historic mining town. We had a wonderful time going thru the buildings and walking the beautiful grounds. It's a little out of the way for most travelers but well worth the… Full review by BBTex

Fayette is an amazing history lesson. It was very cool to see this area that once was the actual town. I have been to many places where buildings were moved to recreate a place, but this is the actua… Full review by young5466

This is certainly a hidden gem, so worth the detour. The history here is well explained and the building restoration has been tastefully done. Such a pretty location. Full review by Road22805766493
Hello I was wondering if there is fire wood for sale at the campground or somewhere close to buy some? Thanks

The park is open year round, but the museum might not be open until a week later than May 11. There is no elevator; just a paved and then gravel path that is navigatable by wheelchair (I’ve done it), but is steep enough to be a challenge and I wouldn’t recommend it unless one is confident of being able to handle the physical strain. Someone to push (or hold back) would be good. Moving around town is similar - some are accessible, others are not. It is a 100+ yr old ghost town, that is very real as it appeared back then, which is good historically, but presents certain challenges.

Don't know. We were there in late October and the buildings were still open, but no volunteers and the store was not opened. I would think they would close it down because of the snow. All buildings would definitely be shut and I am sure they would not plow the lot. I tried to give you their website but Trip Advisor would not allow it. Here is their phone # 906-644-2603. Searching for Fayette State Park should give you their website.
