The road is the easiest walk in terms of surface and steepness. It is longer than the Abigail Adams (Red Dot) trail. The Abigail Adams trail has a south branch which is steeper and …
A:
The road is the easiest walk in terms of surface and steepness. It is longer than the Abigail Adams (Red Dot) trail. The Abigail Adams trail has a south branch which is steeper and rockier and a north branch which is more gradual through a ravine. The very shortest route is up the ski slopes but they are much steeper than any of the other routes on the West side of Blue Hill. There are longer and more challengin hikes from the east side of the hill if you want more of a workout.

The service road is open to individuals with permission. Contact the Observatory to make arrangements.
