The path slopes upwards gradually from north to south, with an elevation gain of several hundred feet over ten miles or so as it climbs out of the Platte River Valley. Riding northwards is an easier trip than going south, but it's not so pronounced that you'd really notice. There are small drops and rises as the path meanders from close to the stream bed and under bridges back up to the street level, but they just make it more interesting. It is easy biking. At no point are you slowly grinding uphill in low gear.
