No worries, you drive right through it. Then you can hike as much or as little as you like.

It's not worth the risk. It's 100% prohibited pass that point as the road is completely impassable with a 2wd vehicle. Don't do it. 4wd is definitely the way to go. It is absolutely worth seeing. As is the beach pass the Garden of the Gods. Do both and do them with a four-wheel-drive vehicle.
