There are several National Forest Service campgrounds fairly close to Harriman State Park. One is Riverside, about 5 miles south of Harriman on Highway 20. Google Riverside Campground Island Park and their website comes right up. Looks like they take reservations and open for the summer season May 19. This campground is on the banks of the Henry's Fork RIver so fishing is very close by. Harriman State Park does not allow dogs on the winter groomed trails and you would have to call them to see what their policies are about dogs in the summer. Another NFS campground is Box Canyon, about seven miles north of Harriman on Highway 20. Very small ( 16 sites ) and does not take reservations. Recreation.gov has lots of good information on these campgrounds including driveway length. Have fun!
