Well it's kinda weird, we made reservations and when we got there it's all done on honor code. You don't have to actually check in unless you want to go to the north campus, use the showers, etc. then you would need a tag for your car. I do believe the normal times are check in 3 and check out 11am. We got there in the evening on Friday but we left around 10am on Sunday and there was still plenty of people on the grounds.

You can go to the Ohio State Parks website and do reservations at any time. It depends on the weekend your going, we went over Father's Day and we made the reservations that week. If you want a good spot close to the lake or beach north side or the south side just depends. It depends if your primitive or hookup. The south side has the the primitive and electric; however, we didn't like the south side electric because they had them packed in like sardines. The north side or the main campus was nice because you had access to all the activities. We stayed in the south primitive and it was quite and relaxing, plus we had plenty of room.
