Kasha-Katuwe is an awesome place, but you can't go there. It's still closed, three years and running, due to COVID. Why not just make Cochiti Pueblo a "No-Stop- Zone" for outsiders to reduce COVID… Full review by JonWessman

Very disappointed that we came to the entrance and it’s closed “due to covid”. It’s a national monument and it’s completely nonsense to close an outdoor space for this for two years. Full review by kevincY6911MJ

Yes, there is a nice loop trail less than a mile long, that is fairly flat. It connects to the much steeper, and arduous, Slot Canyon trail to the top of the ridge. You can walk as far as you want up the Slot Canyon Trail to the point that it gets really steep, and turn back toward the parking area. Walk at your most comfortable pace. The trail, and your stamina, will determine how far you should go. Use your best judgement, take your time, and enjoy the beautiful rock formations and layering. There are numerous shady resting places along each trail. Take a couple of bottles of water on warmer days, and don't forget your camera. It is a BEAUTIFUL Place to enjoy your day.
Q:
Is this a safe place to go hiking alone? Not wanting to go far but don’t want to hike any distance if it’s not safe to do so. Thanks!
A:
There were a lot of hikers and on that trail where we hiked we met two young single lady hikers at different points. So I can say that it is safe to do it on your own.
