If you're in good shape, I'd actually rate this hike as easy. I'm in my 40s and ok shape, and I found it to be easy/moderate. It is definitely MUCH easier than the Nualolo and Awa'awapuhi trails. … Full review by abyss64

Is the trail still closed? I noticed a reviewer said it was closed in January. Will it be open in July?

The trail is closed in that there is a partial fence with a gate at the start of the trail. Many hikers walk around the end of the fence and hike the ridge.
