First time trying to arrange a camping weekend here and it's hard for me to get information by phone since the voice mail systems are locked up. I'm trying to figure out where check in is for the Juniper campground, how much it is to have additional vehicles on site and when the latest time is for arrivals. If you know the answer from experience, please let me know and I will be super happy. :)

You can check in at either of the Entrance Stations (South Gate from Pleasanton, or North Gate from Walnut Creek). If there’s nobody at the Entrance Station one of the Park Rangers will cruise around, during the afternoon and check you off against thhe camping list. I believe one extra vehicle is allowed, at $10. Although you can check in at any time before the Park closes st dusk, I’d strongly suggest you get there around 2:00pm, if possible.
My 8 year old has just started hiking with us a few times (all under 5 miles) and ready for new challenges. Which hikes in Mount Diablo are safe but would have some sufferer terrain for her. Thank you!
