I took my 9 year old to the abandoned turnpike tunnels for something to do. We rode our bikes from the Rt 30 parking lot above Breezewook through the first tunnel. We rode about 10 minutes past it …Full review by ilovewvmountains

There are a few places to park: For the western end, get off the Turnpike at the Breezewood exit and go east on Route 30. Right after you leave town, a road (Tannery Road) will branch off to the left. You'll see a gravel lot at the branch where you can park. You're about 1.25 mile from the Rays Hill Tunnel here. To get to the middle section, continue east on Route 30 up the mountain for a few miles. Look for a gravel road on your left, Valley Hi Road. Take that, and bear right after you pass under the Turnpike, onto Oregon Road. Follow this road back down the mountain and look for a large gravel parking lot on your left. There you're about 1 mile from Sideling Hill Tunnel (to the east) and 3 miles from Rays Hill (to the west). There's a third parking area at an old service plaza off Pump Station Road, but I've never parked there. This would be at the eastern end of the Sideling Hill Tunnel.
