The Weitzman National Museum of American Jewish History is a Smithsonian-affiliated museum located on Independence Mall at Market Street in Center City Philadelphia. It explores nearly four centuries of American history through the lens of Jewish experience, tracing how an immigrant group and religious minority both shaped and was shaped by America. An education center, the Weitzman's nationally recognized exhibitions and educational initiatives advance civil discourse and explore the joyful and powerful stories of Jewish life in America as an antidote to antisemitism. It was founded in 1976.
