Los Angeles chefs, restaurant owners, and workers were snubbed hard last night at the James Beard Foundation Awards in Chicago. The prestigious annual ceremony (save for the past two years, when the awards program went on hiatus to reevaluate its approach) recognizes the restaurant industry with a variety of awards, including best new restaurant, restaurateur of the year, best wine program, and so on.

Nothing works up an appetite quite like a benches-clearing brawl. One Mariners fan wanted to make sure Jesse Winker was covered when he returned to the locker room. The fan, who goes by Sofieballgame on Twitter, shared her story about how, after the second-inning brawl in Anaheim between the Mariners and Angels that saw eight players and coaches, including Winker, ejected, she ordered him a pizza.

The Los Angeles Times reported Friday that recently opened NFT-themed burger joint Bored & Hungry no longer accepts cryptocurrency as a form of payment for its food. When questioned, one Bored & Hungry employee told the Los Angeles Times “Not today — I don’t know.” The individual didn’t give any indication of when the decision was made to cut crypto from the menu of payment options, nor did they know if crypto payments would be making a return.

By consuming a strict diet of mostly fat and few carbohydrates, the chef is prompting his body to access fat stores instead of blood sugar for its energy. Fresh Solutions Network has announced its in-person exhibit for Side Delights’ potatoes and onions at the Organic Produce Summit trade show July 13-14 in Monterey, California.
