Where is it written that your Tuesday night wine should be cheaper than your Saturday night bottle? That a steak in the dining room deserves a better pour than a burger on the grill? As is true for so much other long-held wine “wisdom,” it’s high time to retire that “pour any old thing with a burger” notion.

Legendary chef Thomas Keller has permanently expanded his Napa Valley restaurant empire with Regiis Ova Caviar & Champagne Lounge in Yountville, California. Chef Keller originally opened the lounge — just around the corner from his Michelin three-starred French Laundry — as a pop-up restaurant last summer, but due to its popularity decided to make the lounge permanent.

Rogelio Garcia has been named executive chef of Truss Restaurant + Bar as well as a soon-to-be-announced fine dining restaurant at Four Seasons Resort and Residences Napa Valley. The Calistoga operation stated Garcia's culinary interest began as a dishwasher at a restaurant in Yountville in the Napa Valley.
