Greenbaum and her partners Gordon Banks and chef Adam Harvey just announced that a version of their subterranean Dupont Circle steakhouse and watering hole Bar Charley will open this fall in Gaithersburg’s Rio Lakefront Mall.

The French bakery Boulangerie Christophe opened Monday in Potomac’s Cabin John Village shopping center, expanding from its original location in Washington, D.C. Bakery-goers entering the establishment are greeted with a large display case of cakes, macrons, eclairs, croissants, breads and other pastries.

A new restaurant has quietly opened in the Ashburn Village Shopping Center and the name may sound familiar to longtime residents of the area. It’s called Banjara and it’s in the same spot that a previous incarnation of Banjara once called home. Banjara Flavors of India has taken over the space that was most recently Persis Biryani, which was previously the Indian Taverna, and before that was Banjara Indian Cuisine.

Sweet Sweet Kitchen is planning to open a location this summer in the District, according to an Instagram post from the restaurant. The expansion plans were confirmed by the restaurant’s owner, who would only identify himself as “Chef Mosada”, in a message to the Source. The restaurant and food truck’s second location will open in the District’s H Street NE corridor, with Falls Church, Va.-based Metropolitan Restaurant Brokers representing the restaurant, Mosada confirmed.
