After a scare, Hog Days sandwiches will not be bun-less

The famous Hog Days pork chop and pork patty sandwiches almost didn't happen this year after Festival leaders were told earlier in the week that one important ingredient would likely be missing in 2022 -- the bun that makes it a sandwich. Festival Co-Chair Larry Flannery learned after Tuesday's Hog Days committee meeting that the fest's longtime bread supplier, Sara Lee, wouldn't be able to supply the some-24,000 buns that are used during the Labor Day weekend festival.
