Pamela White, director of the Western Illinois University Museum Studies program, will retire from WIU Tuesday, May 31, after over a decade of service. White studied English at Graceland University, received a law degree from the University of Missouri Kansas City, and a Ph.D. in Art History from the University of Kansas.

This week, the QC Farmers’ Market announced immediate availability of matching funds for customers using Illinois SNAP benefits. Customers will be able to double their benefits to buy fresh local fruits and vegetables. “We are very excited to offer Quad Citizens an opportunity to get fresh healthful foods with their SNAP benefits,” Ian Forslund, owner of Mad Farmers’ Garden and President of QC Farmers’ Market, said in a Friday release.

MUSCATINE, Iowa – Come explore the lives of children from all different kinds of circumstances through the exhibition, “Where Children Sleep: Photographs by James Mollison,” at the Muscatine Art Center. This revealing series of photographs shares the diverse stories of children in many different countries.

Mya Diabira, Bettendorf, was one of seven Black Hawk College students recently were honored for their artistic talent in the annual Student Art Exhibition. She earned second place for her acrylic painting, "Osmans." The juried competition garnered more than 50 entries with 22 pieces selected for the show.
