The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois is seen Wednesday at 730 Hawkins Drive in Iowa City. Since its opening in 1985, the Ronald McDonald House of Iowa City has provided families a place to stay while their child is receiving medical treatment at local hospital. Now, the Ronald McDonald House is seeking the community's help as its kitchen is remodeled in the coming months.

A new Popeyes restaurant cleared an early hurdle to get approval for a location in Pepperwood Plaza in Iowa City's South District. The Iowa City Board of Adjustment voted 4-0 for a special exception for a two-lane drive through for the fried chicken restaurant last week, clearing the way for city officials to begin evaluating the site's plan and designs.

Vendors and attendees gathered at Coralville Farmers Market in its new location at the Iowa River Landing. The market was held at the Coralville Community Aquatic Center’s parking lot for many years before moving to its new location near Xtream Arena. Some vendors are happy with the new location because of the community and interactive feel between vendors because their areas are closer together now.

Get ready for another new eatery, Marionites! Thanks to a recent Facebook post, we just got word that the Cedar Rapids restaurant Daisy's Garage is going to be opening a new location this year! The new Daisy's location will be at the corner of Hwy 151 and Hwy 13, right near the Pizza Ranch in Marion. It appears that the restaurant is being built from the ground up, so it will likely be awhile before it opens.
