What is there to say about bacon? This kitchen all-star seems to be almost universally beloved, whether it's enjoyed as classic, crispy strips at breakfast; piled onto a cucumber and cream cheese sandwich at lunch; shot through an indulgent sweet potato casserole at dinner; or even worked into an apple pie at dessert.

Smithfield Packaged Meats has recalled some pre-cooked crumbled bacon topping because it may be contaminated with metal. Smithfield Packaged Meats Corp. has recalled about 185,610 pounds of crumbled bacon topping because it may be contaminated with metal. The cooked bacon was produced between Feb. 21 and March 5, 2022, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service.

It was sold at retailers nationwide, including Sam's Club. Some of the biggest bacon brands at each grocery store include Oscar Meyer, Hormel, Hatfield, Smithfield, and more. They're responsible for much of the supply that has fluctuated in price and quantity for the last few years, and unfortunately, one company is facing another setback.

Not only does the city have the Rhode Island School of Design, but there are many artists all over the state that create everything from sculptures and photographs to the huge murals you see, particularly in downtown Providence. TIVERTON — After last week, the town's police officers must be feeling stuffed. Both with food and appreciation. With the week of May 15 serving as National Police Week, restaurants around town showed their love for the men in blue by supplying a copious amount of food to the Police Department. The show of appreciation started Monday, when Groundswell Cafe, Bakery, Home and Garden reached out to the department and asked if it could provide a breakfast of baked goods and coffee for the midnight to 8 a.m. shift.
