MISHAWAKA, Ind. – A new Mexican restaurant is coming to The Mills at Ironworks Plaza in Mishawaka this December. Social Cantina, described as a Modern Mexican restaurant with an industrial-chic vibe, will occupy the south end of the retail space. The restaurant serves a number of margaritas and craft beers alongside a menu of classic Mexican dishes with a twist.

MISHAWAKA — A natural gas leak Wednesday morning on Lincoln Way East near Capital Avenue snarled traffic and caused the evacuation of several businesses. Police and firefighters were called to Lincoln Way East near Mariellen Avenue about 7:40 a.m. when the leak was discovered. Traffic traveling east was reduced to one lane as crews worked to fix the leak.

A new sweet treat destination, with a unique twist, is coming to Mishawaka. Crumbl Cookies will be opening their doors at 8 a.m. July 1. In 2018, they established what they call, a rotating menu. That means, the shop has four new and different cookie flavors almost every week. But don’t worry, they have a permanent chocolate chip and semi-permanent Pink Sugar cookie on their menu.

Mishawaka Barnaby's owner Mike Lane says he never would've guessed that it would take him a full year to open his third location. "But that's what the pandemic and its effects did to us," he said. Lane, who has been a part of the local Barnaby's business for 50-plus years, initially had plans to open the 4304 Lincoln Way E. in Mishawaka location by September 2021.
