La Crosse man faces 20 charges covering five incidents

A 20-year-old La Crosse man is being held in the La Crosse County Jail on a $5,000 bond after a 20-count criminal complaint was filed Thursday in La Crosse County Circuit Court. The most serious charges against Jaxeryus T. Lezine are felony counts of stalking/use of a dangerous weapon, second-degree recklessly endangering safety, strangulation, fleeing police and intimidation of a victim with use of a dangerous weapon.

New manager heads Living Faith Food Pantry

Titus Hochstetler was hired in November 2021. The management responsibilities had been under the leadership of Dale and Candy Toltzman since May of 2013. As the Toltzmans approached their 72nd birthdays, they realized the need to transfer the pantry’s extensive management responsibilities to someone else, so a search for a paid manager was conducted.

Volunteers make Kane St. Community Garden thrive

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) - The Kane Street Community Garden produces around 30,000 pounds of fresh fruits and vegetables annually, all for free to the community. Tomatoes, onions, grapes, garlic and more are among what's available to people who have signed up to receive organic groceries. Volunteers come out and help regularly.
