Peterhead Prison Museum hailed by tourism boss who said visit was 'outstanding experience'

Peterhead Prison Museum has received rave reviews from the CEO of the Association of Scottish Visitor Attractions. Gordon Morrison and his family visited the museum this week after their anticipated wait and had a "truly outstanding experience." Bosses at the museum previously told how it was on the brink of closure back in January.

Savage's Dan Patch Days returns June 23-25

Dan Patch Days will features its traditional parade from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 25 in downtown Savage. Dan Patch Days Saturday, June 25 events are more oriented toward families, with inflatables, kids concerts and mini horses. Dan Patch Days goers can try a variety of food during Friday’s Meatfest, including ribs, buffalo, brisket and pulled pork.

People can find her online or at Marketfest this summer at Eagan’s Festival Grounds at the Community Center. State and county park leaders continue efforts to draw people outdoors

After a surge of interest in outdoor activities during the COVID-19 pandemic, traffic at local county and state parks appears to be returning more toward pre-pandemic normals in 2022 — but programs at local parks remain popular. In contrast to 2020 and 2021, when campgrounds across the state were booked solid throughout the summer, there’s still some spots available at most state park campgrounds, even on popular weekends, such as around the Fourth of July.
