Welcome to the area! We frequent the Red River wildlife preserve. It is a great place to spend some time. They have several walking trails around the area. And a paved walking path that goes all along the parkway that runs in front of the preserve. They have a dock that overlooks Lake Catherine. The visitor center has a display area with different information of animals. (It's not a large exhibit area) and a gift shop. There is a boat launch area about 1/2 mile from the visitor center and it has picnic tables. I'm sorry, but I haven't noticed if there are barbecue grills. I'll look next time we go to walk there. It is not a huge area, but it is very peaceful and fun to explore.
