If you take a taxi / moped / Twizy direct from Dockyard, it is about a 40 minute drive - ask a cab driver to take you via the South Shore for the best views of beaches and reefs. You can also take a ferry to Hamilton across the Great Sound, then take a 15 minute taxi to the aquarium in Flatts. You can also take the bus but you will need to transfer in Hamilton - this will take you about 90 minutes or longer depending on traffic.

Take the number 7 or 8 bus to Hamilton bus station. Or you may like to take the ferry, it is quicker and a prettier route, it is a short walk to the bus terminal from the ferry terminal. Once there you have the choice of the number 3, 10, or 11 buses. The number 3 doesn't stop outside the aquarium but it stops in Flatts village and is less than a five minute stroll. If you are coming off the cruise ship I suggest you don't choose the day you are leaving for this excursion as you will be under pressure to get back in time.

I can't find the hours this is open. We have been 3 times but our grandson has been only once and he was only 5 now he is 8 and we want to visit again. Love this place and want to go Monday afternoon in Aug. Taking the ferry to Hamilton then the bus to the Zoo I think and would like to spend the afternoon there (2 + hours). Besides he needs a new book about fish in the Atlantic from the gift shop his is worn out :). Thanks
