I felt safe. Nothing sketchy happened. I would say it is similar to other urban tourist areas; don't walk alone late at night and be aware of your surroundings. It is worth it. The Old Market has Great restaurants, breweries, live music, and old refurbished architecture that is really cool to see. I am still thinking about that Ice Cream shop (so good!).
The Old Market area is basically located in downtown Omaha. It consist of a variety of stores, restaurants and some lodging. The stores open at 9 am or 10 am.
