Gorgeous palace dating back to the 1100s, containing the Capella Palatina from 1132. The chapel was built in Norman/Byzantine/Arab style and is quite beautiful. The gardens outside are amazing, too. Full review by Jon L

A:
We purchased tickets at the Palace, we didn’t encounter long queues.
Q:

Unlike a church in Malta that we visited, there didn’t seem to be anyone watching for length of skirts/shorts or covered shoulders, but perhaps there was and I missed them as I wasn’t wearing anything deemed inappropriate. To be safe, you could wear a short sleeve top rather than sleeveless the day you visit and no short short skirt or shorts.
Q:
Closing time today may 4 for capella palatina?
A:
Not sure, we were there last summer, I would say 3 or 4 in the afternoon.
